The short, friendly version of our terms
Last updated
These are the terms for using Typiq. We wrote them in plain language because you should be able to read them once and actually know where you stand.
By using Typiq, you're agreeing to what's below. If something here doesn't sit right with you, just email us - we'd rather talk than surprise you.
What Typiq is
Typiq is a voice-first writing assistant. You speak, and Typiq turns it into clean, ready-to-send text - fixing the mess, rewriting the wording, or translating it when you ask.
It's a helpful tool, not a person. Typiq uses AI, so it can occasionally get things wrong. Give anything important a quick read before you send it.
Using Typiq
You can use Typiq for pretty much anything you'd normally type: messages, emails, notes, posts, work.
The short list of things we ask you not to do: don't break the law with it, don't use it to harass or harm anyone, don't record people who haven't agreed to be recorded, and don't try to break, resell, or reverse-engineer the service. If someone uses your device to do those things, that's still on your account.
If an account is being used for something seriously harmful, we may need to suspend it. We'll tell you why whenever we can.
Your account
You'll need an account to use most of Typiq. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and let us know if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
You can stop using Typiq at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account whenever you like.
Free plan and Pro
Typiq has a free plan with a weekly word allowance that resets on its own. No card, no trial countdown, no pressure.
Pro removes the weekly cap. Prices and plan details are shown in the app before you confirm anything, and we'll never charge you without you tapping through that screen first.
Billing and cancelling
Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play, not by us directly. Google handles the payment, the renewal, and the receipt.
Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel any time in your Google Play account settings, and you'll keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. If something went wrong on our side, email us anyway - we'll help you sort it out.
Your words stay yours
What you say and what Typiq writes for you belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't sell it.
We do process your audio and text to produce the output you asked for, and to keep the service working. The details of what we collect, how long we keep it, and how to delete it live in our privacy policy.
Changes to the service
We're actively building Typiq, so features will get added, improved, and occasionally retired. We aim for the app to be available around the clock, but no service is perfect - maintenance happens, and so do outages.
If we ever have to retire something you rely on, we'll give you notice where we reasonably can.
The legal bit, in plain words
Typiq is provided as it is. We can't promise it will always be available, always be accurate, or always fit a particular purpose - so please don't rely on it alone for anything critical, like legal, medical, or financial decisions.
If something goes wrong, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us for Typiq in the twelve months before it happened. We're not responsible for indirect losses, like a missed opportunity or a message that didn't land the way you hoped.
Some countries give you rights that can't be signed away. Nothing here takes those away from you.
If these terms change
When we make a meaningful change, we'll update this page and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Small fixes, like clearer wording or a typo, we'll just update here.
Carrying on with Typiq after a change means you're okay with the updated terms. If you're not, you can stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
